Novel Ways to Improve Gut Health and Nutrient Absorption
In the second week of April, Venky’s India Limited organized a series of technical seminars across Kochi (7th April), Raipur (9th April), Varanasi (10th April), and Lucknow (11th April). These seminars, themed “Novel Ways to Improve Gut Health and Nutrient Absorption,” brought together leading experts in animal nutrition, including Dr. Christian Luckstadt (Technical Director Feed, ADDCON) and Dr. Prasad Kulkarni (Regional Manager FEED - South Asia, ADDCON).
The regional team of Venky’s India Limited warmly welcomed the attendees, setting the stage for insightful discussions. Dr. Prasad Kulkarni introduced Dr. Christian Lückstädt, who emphasized the critical role of gut health in poultry performance. He explained the development of the gut microbiome and highlighted the negative impacts of AGPs on human and animal health. Dr. Christian also showcased the benefits of using acids in poultry, with a special focus on sodium diformate.
Dr. Christian Lückstädt presented compelling efficacy studies conducted on layer and broiler birds across multiple countries, including India. These studies demonstrated how sodium diformate significantly reduces faecal pathogenic microbiota, enhances nutrient digestion, and improves overall flock performance. The results included better egg quality, increased egg numbers, and improved eggshell mass, all achieved without the use of AGPs.
Local colleagues assisted in translating the key concepts into the local languages, ensuring the message reached all participants effectively. The expert marketing team of Venky’s, including Dr. Vishwas Sagajkar, Dr. Sunil Nadgauda, and Dr. N. Baburaj, co-presented the seminars.
The seminars attracted a diverse audience of field veterinarians, broiler breeders, integrators, and layer farmers. In Kochi, Mr. Shaji Huda greeted everyone, while in Varanasi and Lucknow, Mr. H.S. Padda took the lead. Numerous other colleagues, including Mr. Shashi Bhushan Kumar, Dr. Rakesh Yadav, Dr. Binay Yadav, and many more, played vital roles in assisting the delegates.
Dr. Prasad Kulkarni and Dr. Vishwas Sagajkar concluded the seminars with heartfelt thanks to all attendees, leaving on a positive note. The seminars were expertly guided by Dr. Deepak Khosla, General Manager Sales and Marketing, Venky’s India Limited.
The response from poultry farmers, veterinarians, and consultants was overwhelmingly positive. Detailed discussions addressed participants' queries, and the significance of acids in enhancing poultry performance was well received.
